Terms of Service
These terms are short because the product is simple. By installing the extension or buying a licence, you agree to them.
Who is who
Chat History Search is a Chrome extension developed and operated by Metric Rise FZE LLC, Ajman NuVentures Centre Free Zone, UAE. Paid purchases are processed by Polar Software Inc. ("Polar"), which acts as the merchant of record: Polar is the seller on your receipt and handles payment, taxes and billing support. Google is not the seller and is not a party to any purchase. OpenAI, Anthropic and Google are not affiliated with this extension, do not endorse it, and are named here only to describe which websites it works on.
What you get for free
The free version indexes every conversation you open on the supported sites, in full, and searches the last 90 days of it. Export, restore, per-service deletion and the index health check are all included and are not limited by date. It requires no payment and no account.
What you get when you buy
A one-time purchase buys a licence key that removes the date limit on search, so search reaches your whole history on that browser. The purchase is not a subscription and there are no recurring charges.
The date limit applies to search and to nothing else. Conversations older than the free window are still indexed, still exported, and still counted out loud in the popup. Buying a licence does not retrieve anything that was not already there; it stops search from stopping.
The licence key
- The key is for your personal use on your own devices.
- Do not publish or resell the key. A key that is refunded, charged back or abused stops being valid.
- Activation is the only moment this extension contacts a server, and you start it. The key you paste is sent to Polar so it can confirm the key is real. Nothing about your conversations is sent, then or ever.
- A failed or impossible check never costs you the feature. There is no background re-check at all, and only an explicit refusal from Polar withdraws a licence. Being offline does not, for any length of time.
What the extension can reach
Four chat hosts — chatgpt.com, chat.openai.com,
claude.ai, gemini.google.com — and, at activation only,
api.polar.sh. On every other site it has no access at all: not restricted, not
filtered, absent. This is enforced by the manifest, which a reviewer or a user can read.
Your data is your responsibility, literally
The index exists only on your device. We hold no copy and cannot recover it for you. Uninstalling the extension deletes it, and so can anything that deletes your Chrome profile data. The export feature exists exactly for this reason; use it.
What it does not promise
The extension reads the rendered text of a conversation page. The three services it supports change their pages without notice, and although the extraction is deliberately built not to depend on their markup, a change can still break it. A conversation you never opened was never indexed and cannot be found later.
No warranty
The extension is provided as is. We work to make it reliable, and its reliability is checkable in its own manage panel, but we do not guarantee it is free of defects or that no data will ever be lost. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for lost data, lost profits or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid for the licence.
Refunds
See the refund policy. In short: 14 days, write one email.
Changes
If these terms change, the date above changes. Continued use after a change means acceptance. We will not change the deal retroactively for a purchase you already made.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and disputes are heard in the courts of Ajman, UAE. Nothing here removes consumer rights you hold where you live. Nothing in them limits consumer rights that your local law grants you and does not allow to be waived.
